Death Brings Such Sad Sorrow Poem by nigel colledge

Death Brings Such Sad Sorrow

Death brings such sad sorrow, how do we face tomorrow
What memories flood back of joyous times of our youth
When sun dappled leaves lined winding Devon Lanes
And a young boy and girl fell in love in kinder times.

Sixty five years on treasured memories remain of days gone
How can time cast aside so much and leave life unfulfilled
Embedded in my brain if only things had been different
Andrew and you, Dear Marguerite are always in my heart

I wish you well, as we approach the autumn of our lives
Look forward with hope that the simple things ahead
Once more will bring you comfort and new adventures
May the angels care for and guide you and your family
