My Love Poem

King James Bible 1 Peter 4: 8
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."

As I suckled on my mother's breast,
there was devotional love in her eyes,
Jimmy had fulfilled his purpose, a son,
From now on I was the man to rely on.

Oh what magic moments we shared,
To the exclusion of Jimmy and Ursula,
My sister, no place in this loving embrace,
She cut and thrust, but our love endured.

I am old now and regret the hurt I caused,
I was a naughty child, but she absolved,
Again and again I wounded her trust in me,
Our fervent love gave peace when she died.

The doctor said I had weeks to live, no worries,
Will I be back with Mary my mother very soon?
But, hey! She took my hand leading me back,
Six years later I rejoice in the memories I share.
