Death In Winter Poem by wendy zhou

Death In Winter

Rating: 5.0

Every time I breath,
my breath appears before me.
Trees are left barren,
with no one to appreciate them.
Food is scarce,
many lives are lost.
Shivering from the coldness,
trying to escape the fierce wind.
Beggars begging for warmth, food, and shelter,
people looks at them in disgust.
Sitting before a hearty fire,
reaching out your hands.
Feeling the hotnessof the blaze,
just barely touching your fingertips.
snuggled in a corner rubbing its hands,
just to get a little warmth.
Its heart is empty,
Staring in a near by window.
She saw with her own eyes,
a full, happy family.
Gathered in front of a roaring fire.
The happiness, and warmth of a family,
replaced the coldnessaround her.
She finally closed her eyes,
as a tear trickled past her raw, frozen cheeks.
She died peacefully covered in rich, white snow.
