Deck No Halls

Deck no halls
with boughs of holly
Frightened trees blanch
when shears near a branch

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
*

Note: Every blade of grass, every leaf

and branch are needed

to transform fossil fuel generated

excess carbon dioxide into oxygen,

to invoke rain through evaporation,

to stabilize the weather

provide animal and bird habitat

prevent mud slides
