Deep Inside - Poem by Emily Knight

My life is as dark as night
Every minute is a moment wasted
Every day is a struggle to survive
My heart is slowly turning cold

I’m crying out with everything
That’s in me
I’m reaching out trying to grasp the reason
Why this happened to me

My soul is a dark void
As lifeless and depressed as can be
Every day I give in more and more
As all the tears I cry turn to ice

I’m crying out with everything
That’s in me
I’m reaching out trying to grasp the reason
Why this happened to me

Deep inside I am there
Unable to free myself
I’ve lost everything I ever had
So now I’m letting go

I cried out with everything
That was in me
I’m no longer reaching out, never again will I try
To grasp the reasons, because it happened, and its over
