Deep Within Poem by Tammi Salazar

Deep within the depths of my heart you lie.
you sit there patiently waiting for the day when i can be your queen.
All alone with your head hung low, where it is that noone can be.
The tears that fall down your cheek with every lasting memory of me.
Noone can tell us that we weren't real, noone knows just what it is that we feel.
Love cannot explain these feelings that are deep within.
There is no explanation except that this is real.
I search inside as far as i can
but, somewhere in the shadows you run from me.
Why does the power of you and i evade us?
why can't we just give in and let it be?
As long as i have breath and the world still turns
I will keep searching for your heart to be
Even if it takes all my life searching the dark shadows of deep within!
