Deeper Than Love Poem by G.B. Smith

Deeper Than Love

I find myself looking
for you everywhere
the bed is a bed for two
occupied by one

I left you a rose
on your pillow
last night
You were not there
but your fragrance was

Time and time again
you told me that
you loved me
And each time
I wondered
why me

Now in the quiet
of the night
tears roll down
my cheeks
I never knew
that heart ache
was so real until now

Was it real
My heart says yes
my memory has NOT faded
it is deeper than love.....

sigh..................
