Desire Poem by G.B. Smith

Desire

I look into the heavens
and want to feel your
heart beat once again
I see shadows in the moonlight
dancing amidst the clouds

I remember your touch
the sweetness of your kisses
and your breath upon my neck
I search for you in the twilight
needing your love once again

I don't quite remember
how it was that you left me
alone here on this desolate place
I want to feel the silkiness of your skin
poised on top of me in love's embrace

I want to taste your hot
wet kisses
and feel the heat of your loins
I want all of these things
and I want them now

I want to know why you left me
I want to know if this is heaven
or is it a side of hell
I think I know the answer
but am afraid to ask out loud

I think when you took my life that night
I was sent here to try and remember
I want to know the answers to it all
but what is it that I know for sure
I guess the sad truth is that I am dead

Sigh...
