Defeated Poem by Hannah Hebditch

Defeated

Another heart of jagged glass cracks over the insecure edge of anger
As more and more tears flood in the broken space within
One more trusted friendship, drowned to the opposite side

An unexpected urge to compete with danger
Because that’s the best that you can give in
So you take a try at heavens slide…
You could have won the battle
Fought past any pain and trouble
But you chose to be weak
You let life’s sick game defeat

“If you ever feel the sharp urging rattle
Pretend it’s just something subtle
Don’t let anything pass through your heart beat
Because if you give up now, there’ll never be anything positive to see”
