Deluding Poem by shimon weinroth

Deluding

repainting memories
and out comes a white house
with a picket fence
windows with chintz curtains
colonial furniture and brass doorknobs

tall maple trees surrounding
long flowing lawns
with a bright sun that never goes down
in a childhood past
untaxed and eternal
