Denial Poem by Harriet James

Denial

Denial
Denial
Denial

Isn't that it - denial?

But know that I love you
And know that it's true
And pure and soulful,
Just beautiful!

But

It's spilling over,
Spilling over,
Spilling over,

Spilling over into desire;
Desire to touch you,
Desire to hold you,
And that just wouldn't do!

Hence I fear

I fear for the purity,
I fear for the soulfulness;
So do I choose to
Live the lonesomeness

Of

Denying
Denying
Denying

Your eyes?
