Depart Poem by jean maudit

Depart

I ask do not enquire further
than the waves breaking.
I've stopped the boat to wait
under lamplights before.

If I am windy, it is because
you have leafed through
my mind's thumbed pages
and found me as blue

as a shark by the shore. Do
not be amphorous like
the black horizon, or perturbed
by a gift of oranges

that announce the imminence
of an arrival. It is the sun
undressing behind clouds,
stripteasing the dark.
