Departure Poem by Lorene Kinsey

Departure

He told me it’d get easier
to see him on his way,
but sorrow is no friend of mine
I know he just can’t stay.

The night before he leaves
he pulls me to his breast
embracing for the times to come
and all the times we’ve missed.
