Depression - Poem by Emma Hasney
The darkness surrounds me
Enveloping me in a cold, heavy shroud
Lost and alone I wander searching for a light
A glimpse to warm me, to guide me
I stand alone
I feel fear
I feel nothing
Empty inside
Reaching out into the blackness
No-one is there
Nothing is there
Screaming out into the blackness
No-one hears my cries
Kneeling down
Pleading to the blackness to set me free
Let me feel the light again
The warm glow on my face
In my heart and soul
Let me smile again
