Desert Eyes Poem by Remy Rueb

Desert Eyes

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I want to cry,
But no tears escape
My desert eyes, and I pray
I pray to God to let me shed a tear,
But tears still fail to escape
These desert eyes
I guess that's the result of not
Wanting to feel anymore
Once you turn it off, it's off
Because it's easy to not care
But once you don't, you don't
That's the hard part
I want to care,
I just forgot how
That is why no tears escape
My desert eyes

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I actually just wrote this, some days I'm fine, and then there's days like today, when I want to do nothing, but cry. The thing is, I can't cry. I guess everyone has a limit on their tears.
