Ever since that day,
the whole world has been
soaked in silence.
Morning birds open
their bursting beaks
to sing
tuneless and soundless
that ring in my heart
as if silent bells are
chiming on a distant

as the year ages
the silence gets
and the
And, as the
approaches, the silence
will fade into
a gentle whisper,
the gulf between
us a mere
crack in the desert sands.
