Destiny Poem by Paul McAnaney

Destiny

Rating: 4.0

I now gaze fixedly and intently upon our predetermined destiny and realize that our love is nothing but a perversion of reality, A distortion of equality, nothing but a cataclysmic consequence of infatuation.

I foresee the dark ahead even as we lay enervated by our unsheathed passion and as the incandescent glow of our love begins to attenuate i realize this is our destiny our never ending legacy.

I now lament that which is our destiny for it is not that of which i had envisioned for us, now i fear our destiny is sealed as the wheels of fate conspire to rob us of our eternal desire.the life we shared smolders in the ashes of our future. This is to be our destiny

No Paul. WE are the architects of our destinies. We are the ones that make or break what we can or cannot do in our lives. WE are the builders of our dreams, and WE are the makers and the shakers that make them real for us. Destiny is not so foretold that we cannot shape it to our happiness. If our dreams die, they die because we kill them, and don't let them bring us the happiness we deserve. No Paul, happiness is what you make it, and destiny is how you shape it. There is nobody I know of in the world more so adept at understanding this than I am. I thought these same thoughts when I was a teenager, when I was 25, when I was 40. It took me 4 decades to finally realize that I can bring my destiny to bear, and make my happiness what I can. Am I happy now? Not really, but I can live as me shaping my destiny to make me at least a little happier. You have written a really good piece here with a volatile message. There will be those that disagree with me, but like I said, WE are the architects of our destinies and WE are the builders of our dreams. A 10+++++. Love & hugs, Barbara
