Destiny Poem by William B. Deutscher

Destiny

City block,
empty day.
Discordant talk,
desultory play.

Shivering fear,
turn of screw.
Memory's drear
gray-washed hue.

Attendant strife,
luck of the draw.
Contingent life,
irrevocable flaw.

Crashing fall,
disordered state.
Final call,
ignominious fate.
