Details Poem by Andy Barrette

Details

I'm sitting in a car, right now,
that's moving through the state.
I've never seen so many hills
or so much rain, to date.
My parents' running argument
on politics ensues.
I'll even throw in my two cents
when I feel it is due.
Sometimes, I will catch sight of
a person driving by
and form a thought of who they are,
of they live and why.
Mainly, major details
don't seem too much of a treat.
It's the subtle ones, that I can catch,
that make my day complete.
