Devil's Day In Court Poem by Charles Karia

Devil's Day In Court

Tomorrow the evil one is in court,
He'll argue against a church mate,
The brotheryou decreed a thief,
Over the coins youlent in 'love',
To Tom when his son was unwell.
Being attacked by a devil so cruel

The prosecution will ask for life-
Life of poverty for Tom and wife.
Who also shared the gravy.
Scratching horns in ecstasy,
He will quote the law and cite;
The borrower needs enslavement!
By the lender's attorney it's thus written,
For it's wickedness to borrow when,
Knowing you won't repay.
Thus you need to suffer till you pay.

He is your advocate remember,
Though no fees he will ask ever.
You engaged him to consult,
When you registered a complaint,
And he he took up your plea
To litigate for free,

Fueled by an eternal grudge,
He will wear the good judge,
Who is loving but avowedly just,
Into granting the devil the writ;
The lesser orders of torment,
Forcing Tom deeper into debt.
