Crisis Of Faith Poem by Charles Karia

Crisis Of Faith

Rating: 3.5

What is the testing crisis of faith?
Is the crisis a mighty fiery desert,
That you feel when you need health,
But your fervent prayers bring it not?

Is it a swamp that you must cross,
When you mine for a breakthrough,
But all you can get is ugly dross,
That gives your enemies a laugh.

Is it the dry and waterless savannah,
That for ages long you crawl upon,
When you want a baby like Hannah,
Yet the years roll and there is none?

Its a savannah, a swamp and a desert,
That testing last mile of darkness,
That separates those who are persistent,
Them that really believe and the dabblers.

Its the forest that gives you the patience,
To depend on the holy spirit of God,
And linger longer in his glorious presence,
Andyou experience the primacy of his word.

Well articulated and nicely brought forth with spiritual insight. A beautiful work of art nicely embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. Thanks for sharing, Charles.

The crisis of faith is when you realise that you have been manipulated. Also, that faith arose from black ink describing mythology. And, finally when you grow up not believing fairy stories.
