Devils Poem by Alejandro Torres

Devils

Rating: 4.5

Watch the bubbles float in the sky
I always did look for the devil
In the unlikeliest of places
But when I found you
I had no idea
And that thought has haunted me
Longer than your words
Of longing
More than your images
Of delectable paling skin
A breast-full abundance
That most clamored to get a peek
But your bounty you showed me
With immodest intentions
And I fell for your gentle teasing
Like the dying stars
Fall out of the sky
And the brandy wont burn you away
Nor the passion I hear
Lurking in the undertones
Of that honey silk voice
That causes me to tremble
Like a wild thing lost
And confused
In your jungle
Would I enter into your humid oasis
A well spring between caramel hills
Would the wind carry your cries
To my haunted ears
Would my broken eyes
See a trembling Goddess fall
With her beauty faintly aglow
Would your oasis feed this starved lover
Ambrosia
Or damnation
You always were my devil
In female guise
A woman with dead valley eyes
And a haunting smile
True to yourself
And only
You
