Silent groaning
hunger striking
feelings of emptiness
on the cold floors of loneliness
desolate being like me
my cries are heard
but are left unattended to
so let me try crying once more
Did you ever look at me
with pity in your eyes
did you ever look at me
and weep on my account
did you ever feel my pain
how did you look at me
what was I to you
I'm left alone
on the cold floors of loneliness
did you ever look at me
as someone in pains
in need of help
I walk alone
with no one to care for me
isolated and clueless
I've been made to grow
not by nature
but by experience
I've become used to
the wickedness of man
to the silent prayers
God when when will this end
but hear me now as I speak
Did you ever look at me
with sincere pity
or were your eyes
filled with disgust
was i ever looked
upon as sincere
did you glare at me
or look down on me
were you perfect
and I imperfect
my cries were unheard by you
did you stare at me
with disgust written all over your face
did you sigh and say
Here we look upon
an empty child
one with no mother or father
one forced to cope alone
here we look at her with disgust
for she is not human
why
because she is from the streets
she is poor
and of a lower background
she is not the same as us
for we are wealthy and educated
But here is the fact
I have heard more than you
seen more than you
shall I tell you how many nights
I've spent under bridges
shall I tell you
the countless and gruesome
deaths I have seen
you would die a thousand times over
if you see what I have seen
did you ever look at me
without the aim of exploiting
the little I had
you look at me with pity and disgust
but you are the pitiful and disgusting ones
