Die Poem by Kayla Jacobs

Die

Rating: 2.8

i'm not worth the space
a smile lit up her face
as he said he will love her forever
before she knew it
he was leaning in for a kiss
to be with such an amazing guy
who would leave her in a moments notice
and take her heart with him
he said that he would care for her
that he would always be there for her if she ever needed him
and he kept his word for 3 long years
but as all good love stories go
forever is a long time
sometimes forever has an end
as they parted ways
she was crying and heart-broken that he lied
he said goodbye
he promised they could still be friends
but she didn't wanna just be friends with him
when she got home that day
she went into her room
and fell on her bed and cried
then took out her knife
and wrote him a letter to be found the next day
as she was writing her tears kept falling onto the paper
she didn't want to die
but how could she live forever?
she cried as she dug the knife into her delicate skin
and watched as the blood slowly come from within
she wanted the pain to end
so she dug the knife in deeper
hissed at the pain it ignited
watched as the blood started to fall more
her wrist was cut open
no skin left untouched
by the unworthiness of her blood
she didn't want to die
as she laid back on her bed
she realized how peaceful it was
but still she cried
as she was slipping away
her blood covered the floor and her bed
she whispered to no one in particular
“i love you” as she died
