Different Poem by Tony Robinson

Different

How different are you and me?
How much the same do we want to be?
How much in tune with each other is really healthy?
How much individuality do we need to be free?
Why should I be like you?
Why would you want to be like me?
Wear your soul like an overcoat
Don’t be afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve
Being true to yourself is something we should all believe,
I’m cutting away the restrictions
I’m breaking free of self imposed chains
I’m going to experience life as it really is
Because somewhere in between I will find the real me
And only then will I truly be free.
