Disconnected Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Disconnected

Nobody wants to learn anything anymore,
Since everything is found on the internet.
There's no reason for them to study now,
Since the information is so easy to get.

Why would we ever want to read a book?
Everything is now made into a movie.
There is no reason to use our imagination,
It seems we have lost our creativity.

Conversations are a thing of the past,
Everything is now done by e-mail and text.
Simple things in life are no longer a joy,
It seems everything is way too complex.

It's now impossible to find family time,
Since the kids would rather be left alone.
And yet it's still hard to track them down,
Even though they carry their own phone.

Technology is really getting out of hand,
It's like a virus, and we're all infected.
Humanity is losing touch with itself,
We must stop before we're disconnected.
