n its submission,
the way your face hits the glass,
pane by pane,
as your smile fades,
in out
in out,
dark transcends,
gives itself over,
begins again,
n you are the goddess statue
crumbling in roam,
waiting to be worshiped,
patience wasting by the pool like disinterested parents,
while the children are drowning,
clinging to the sides afraid to swim,
not wanting to get out,
n the summer sun beats across your heart like a drum,
n you here the old songs,
anthems of freedom,
n dissolution yourself in thoughts of better days,
when you were so sure,
everything was going to be OK.
