Dissapointment Poem by Sally Walker

Dissapointment

You've been locked in your pen for quite some time now.
Searching for something to wow you.
You discover the world.
Sort of…
You travel everywhere in your mind.
Exploring anywhere your heart desires.
The countries that rely in your imagination are kind.
Unlike the ones you find in reality.
So you remain hidden.
Avoiding disappointment.
You weren't always like this.
You were once trusting with the whole world in front of you.
Your imagination was the reality.
But things have changed now.
Pow.
Life hit you.
Changing who you once were.
Because now you are tired.
Struggling to find words,
As though you're resembling broken birds-
attempting to fly.
What was once a simple task
Has become most troublesome.
Worn out,
You shout at every obstacle in your path.
You don't want to stay this way.
Although your key out may have been lost forever.
Or so it seems.
You've been hurt.
Leaving you more alert.
Less trusting.
Which is the reason why you remain.
The keys have always been right in front of your face.
Although you can't crack the case
Of how to get to them.
What you don't know.
Is to obtain the key to your freedom,
Doesn't require an opened box,
Or an open pen.
But rather an opened heart.
