Bad Movie Poem by Sally Walker

Bad Movie

Do you ever watch a bad movie…
Just hoping it'll get better?
Do you ever watch a bad movie…
Just to give it a chance?
When you're done watching that bad movie…
Do you ever experience disappointment?
Once you realize,
It was a waste of time.
When you've experienced that disappointment…
Do you feel dumb?
That none of it was worth it?
Not the wait.
Not your fate.
Do you begin to debate whether your life will meet its end?
Do you realize your life is that movie?
Do you dare?
To stare,
Into the treacherous end of the movie that is yours?
Or will you remain in denial?
Following useless tours.
To avoid the doors that're begging to be opened.
Do you hide?
In the den that is your home?
Nowhere left to freely roam?
Is that why you're sitting here writing this poem?
