Dissection Poem by Carl Adamshick

Dissection

WE WANTED to save
the dead animals.

We took a skinned
cat being refrigerated
in a clear bag.

Outside dark
and shadow talked
on the kept grass.

We could think of nothing.

We tore a hole
in the thick plastic,

raised the glistening
creature up the flagpole.
