Distance Is The Enemy Poem by Anonymous Jr.

Distance Is The Enemy

The phone clicks, the line goes dead
And doubt fills my head
An endless love, what is this?
When you don't reply to calls you miss
Distance is our enemy in this life
It envelops me in worrisome strife
Thoughts of you swallow my day
Dreams of an unwaivering love in May
A rush of summer warmth runs over me
Those sweet tears of joy are all I see
Bewildered, I am, as I reminisce
All I can remember is your sweet kiss
But you didn't call when you said you would
You didn't talk when you could
You don't say 'I love you' when you should
And then you act like things are all good? !
Open your eyes
Look at me
Realize
All I wonder is if it's true
Is this just a game to you?
My love, its overwhelms me as you smile
My heart stretched across 1000 miles...

I liked the poem. It has justified the tense feeling so well! has the love really outgrown? the phone rings or not, do they remember us or not, the anxiousness is so real, you made it so clear in your poem :) Keep writing
