Distant Thoughts Poem by Robert Dougherty

Distant Thoughts

Distant Thoughts

Carry on, Move past the evil within the world.
Take the Angels hand, As it will guide you to your Final Haven.
To see you cry, The Tears of pain.
I hurt you, Day after day with the careless things,
As the Worlds leaders sit on your throne, Laughing at us as if they were kings.
Yet they don’t see, Like we do.
Your eye’s have opened, Yet truly…I think I opened mine.
I now can see, You’re the Girl for me.
You won’t leave, Nor Continue without me.
We walk together on this sandy beach,
Making our marks within the Bright Yellow Sand…
Elegantly Wrapped in a Intricate Band.
The Threads unable to be broken,
Scissors and Danger remain useless…
You hold my hand, As I hold yours.
I’ll bring you across the World,
Being Your Guides and Tours.
A Sunray of Heavenly Wonders,
Set upon your flawless Figure.
Whether or not, I’ll always linger,
Keeping you safe.
As we hold, As we fought…
The Dangers will always remain…A Distant Thought.
