Divorce Poem by robert dickerson

Divorce

Whoseever fault, dear, facing the end
say 'it's mine'. Pretend.
Leave it behind with an easy mind
Breathe (if you've truly tried) a sigh and a prayer
that this great burden may slide
cleanly from your shoulders.
Divorce happens. Therefore
sever dependency from love:
imagine Life beyond the trauma.
Go on. Live again. Spare me the drama-
Do something. Go to China.
Whatever the merits
nothing is worse than an unhappy marriage.
