Do I Have Your Attention Yet? Poem by Frank Acquafredda

Do I Have Your Attention Yet?

Do I have your attention yet?
It's been one hell of a ride
I have shared all my pain,
And the tears that I cried
Shared the unhappy memories
When my father had died,
Talked of my goals In life
I was constantly denied.

Do I have your attention yet?

I put out on the table
All my demons within,
Shared my everyday battles
Now you see I don't win,
Talked of my past crimes
And how I would sin,
Blaming my childhood past
From where it all would begin.

Do I have your attention yet?

I presented a struggle
With my life an addiction,
A prayer and a dream
And even a prediction,
I have put myself out there
My whole life to commit,
As I write this all down
And then click submit.

Do I have your attention yet?

This helps a great deal
My life to get through,
Looking forward to hearing
All your thoughts and reviews,
And if you don't like them
No worries I won't hate,
It's just nice to know
That some here can relate.

Do I have your attention yet?

So as long as I'm living
There is bound to be more
Only to get better
And that I assure.
And I hope that by now
I have you feeling me
Here lives my dark thoughts
For the whole world to see.
