It is such an arrogant assumption; -
I have no religion and therefore, I
Never gave a thought to the big questions.
My trivial mind has never asked why.
But I say you are wrong to judge me so.
Since childhood it has been my obsession
Longing and learning and seeking to know -
All the truth of the human condition.
From the outset, I saw that religion
Was a blindfold we should have been shedding
Just a mindless and useless diversion
From the path that we ought to be treading.
Your blind faith is a futile temptation.
Understanding will be our salvation.
