Do You? Poem by Kassie B

Do You?

Feeling sorry for you is somthing I cant,
and I most definately will not do.

You dug your grave,
and now you ask for forgivness.
You don't say it,
but I can feel it.

I know somewhere in you,
somewhere in you you have compassion for others,
and me.

You wont let others see though,
you let them see a lie.

Why?
Why do you do this to me?
Why did you?
How can you live everyday knowing that this is how it is,
this is how I can be treated.

I did nothing to you.
How could I have?
You never let me.

You don't know yourself,
but I know you.
You are afraid,
afraid of what others think and what they will.

So you let me be this,
this is who afraid of you,
yet not as much as you of me.

There is no respect in this line.
There is a relationship though,
one that is unhealthy,
and one that sets a bad example for things to come later on in my life.

Do you ever think about me?
Do you wonder how I am?
Do you care?
Or is this line just another way to get back at the past
because you know it will refer back.
But you are wrong,
the only thing I will refer back to is knowing.

Knowing respect was never there.

The last sentence resonates.....it leaves a sense of sadness and misunderstanding. Nice poem =) I like it.
