Do You. Poem by Perfection Is Flawed

Do You.

Rating: 4.5

Do you
know me?

(Slip in and)
out of

So many facades,
Names that I barely remember
now.

It seems so long ago,
it is so long ago.

when I was still young and
ignorant.

(Insolent, pronounced with a slip of the tongue,
a flick

the word that ends
with an absolute full stop.)

Spit it out,
twisted and distorted,
crushed by word(lessness)

It is no longer mine.
A change, a twist,
yet another name,

another jill, another jane.
Another day of Rain.

Rainy Days,
yet another cliché

yet another name with hopes of
sophistication.

creation.

(Face it, Sweetheart
there are others who share such
a name)

(she told me she hated it
it reminded her of
too many things

too many people)

In the end, no one, no longer

knows
who
i
really

am.

(All you see are flaws.)
