Do You Cry Poem by Nick Downer

Do You Cry

Do you cry,
After the knife is dragged,
Across your skin?
Do you cry for yourself,
For the blood running,
Down your arm?
Do you cry because,
This is your life,
And you’ve wasting it?
You won’t get another,
This was your one chance.
Do you cry,
When the inside hurts more,
Than the outside,
Even though you’re trying,
To make the outside hurt more?
Do you cry,
From disappointment when,
The stinging stops,
And the cuts you made,
Turn to scars,
When you’re forced to feel,
The pain that hurts more,
The pain inside?
I guess we're not,
So different after all.
