Mother and Father
lessions in don't be bothered
Wisdom changes the logic
Believe in my magic
Whispers in the dark
Voices leaving a mark
In love with a piece
Until I found he's a tease
Opening my heart
Honey, break it apart
Arms intertwined
Lies, gentle laughter die
A strange grafitti moment
A reckless sea trapped in absolution
Prayers to lift you
Lost or found, who
Is this man behind
All things unkind?
Bewildered, unexplored
Tonite, I leave him exposed.
Lips to mouth words
Throw breadcrumbs for the birds
Smile if you want to
Come undone because I make you
Laughter in the dark
You've left your mark
I hang up the phone
Know you're not alone

Opening my heart Honey, break it apart Arms intertwined.. a good poem romantic. past memories....love and its varied forms....... so many thoughts came into my mind as i read your poem. tony
What I really (really) like about this piece is that you don't sacrifice your message for your rhyme scheme (i.e. absolution, exposed) . All to often people get so caught up in trying to make the next line rhyme that they step away from the point they were trying to make. You show courage in the piece twofold. Firstly in speaking your thought, but secondly in not surrendering that same message simply to make the poem rhyme. Well written. Thanks for sharing

A reckless sea trapped in absolution What a beautiful line this is. The whole poem sings along delightfully Tom Billsborough
