I do not deserve love
Says that voice
In my head
That tracks
Like a savant
Personal shortcomings
Selfish behaviors
Unkind moments
Childish fits
I could go on
For quite a while
But it only underscores
That I talk too much

I do deserve love
Says that voice
In my head
Barely audible
But still present
A list of attributes
Love-worthy
At least to some

I dare not list them
They are fragile
Comparatively
And to do so
Would be boastful
Another shortcoming
To add to the list

Do you think he senses
The fear inside?

Fervid clutches
Souls trade kisses
Bodies without boundaries
Moving in Trances
Godly connection
Existence blurs
Only we remain

That one day
I will not deserve
His love
