Don'T Poem by Heather Stanton

Don'T

You don't think for me
You don't choose for me
You don't walk in my shoes
I walk my mile
I think for myself
I choose for myself
My shoes maybe warn, torn, bruised and used
Yet I walk in my shoes
Yet I walk my mile
Yet I think for myself
Yet I choose for myself
I don't live life for you but
Against you
Against all odds built around me
Against all the dirty looks
Against all the tall tail talking
I carry myself the best I can I don't polish my nails use a face mask full of colors or hike up my dress to pleasure you
I don't come to please you
I don't write to please you
