Don'T Know What To Say Poem by Marie Alexandra R. Ibarra

Don'T Know What To Say

Rating: 5.0

A gentle kiss,
A hug so tight,
Can't let go –
I'm not alright…
Without you.

A smile in the morning,
The table prepared,
Eating together –
I'm not alright…
Without you.

Took a seat on the chair,
You're right beside me,
Strumming music in my ears –
I wouldn't be alright…
Without you.

We're still sitting down,
You start to tickle me,
We laugh and run out of breath –
I wouldn't be alright…
Without you.

Counting down the hours remaining,
My bags ready to go,
Then I put my head down,
You would cheer me up –
Not knowing what to do…
Without you.

Now I'm in your arms,
I start to cry,
You hold me tight,
Letting me know:
There's no letting go –
Not knowing what to do…
Without you.

Now we're in the car,
You take glimpses of me, as well as I of you,
I just put my head down and start to cry –
Worried of what would happen…
Without you.
Here's my stop; right at the gate,
Promise to check-in and come out to see you,
I just cry in line –
Worried of what would happen…
Without you.

We eat dinner together,
While time ticks,
To the last second –
Not knowing what to think about…
Without you.

Here comes the last words before I see your face again,
But my tears represent the love I have for you,
As you did the same –
Not knowing what to think about…
Without you.

A farewell hug and kiss,
The tears of goodbye,
The words of love exchanged –
I love you – what would I do…
Without you.

Ready to leave,
Still hanging on tight,
I let go, turn around,
Said “I love you” and left you there standing –
I love you – what would I do…
Without you.

I sit quietly on the plane,
Looking out the window to see if I could spot you from above,
I weep so hard, I lose my breath –
I have no clue what to do…
Without you.

I recall the wonderful, embarrassing, touching memories,
Just thinking about it,
I could laugh, smile, or even cry.
Thinking about how much you would worry about me –
Realizing if I was there…
Without you.

I would think to myself,
What would they be doing if I wasn't there?
To give them my love –

Wanting to ask you the same…

What would you do without me?
