Don’t Measure Me By… - Poem by maggie signaigo

My address or
The car I drive
The clothes I wear or
My bra size.
The way I speak or
The words I use
My bank account or
The job I do.
Where I worship or
How I pray
How I voted or
The music I play.
The company I keep or
With whom I lay
The stuff I buy or
What I throw away.
The books I read or
The books I write
What I do most days or
What I do some nights.
What I hold sacred or
The rules I break
The time that I give or
The pills I take.
All of my blessings or
All which I’m cursed
The smile on my best day or
The frown on my worst.
