Don’t Tell Me That I’m Wrong Poem by Alfred Ramos

Don’t Tell Me That I’m Wrong

Rating: 5.0

You wear your innocence like wallpaper
Disguising the truth that can only turn to vapor
Don’t tell me that I’m wrong
Your instinct can’t be that strong

Distractions scatter across an endless sea
Destinations chosen with a sense of hypocrisy
Don’t tell me that I’m wrong
Thoughtless verbiage thrown where it don’t belong

Your faceless smile evokes but a shadow in the mirror
Who am I, but the chosen one, to lead the cheer
Don’t tell me that I’m wrong
It wasn’t me who chose to sing this song

Your corruption of the awful truth
As careful words slip through a broken tooth
Don’t tell me that I’m wrong
I knew before you knew, you wouldn’t be here long
