Donovan Leitch Poem by Wayne Falconer

Donovan Leitch

The hippies mystic minstrel
of golden flower song
combs in multi-colours
so rich and intense.

He devours the most
harden cynical of hearts
and he sings beautiful songs
steeped in universal love.

The acoustic Scottish poet
just takes my breathe away
singing 'The Hurdy Gurdy man'
so might you easily guess.

His given name man well
it had to be Donovan
yes it's Donovan Leitch
troubadour of the hippie age.

So much to recount friends
all about Donovan man
Donovan the hippie son
Donovan the meditating guru.

Donovan friend of the environment
universal seeker and traveller
musician and mystical poet
with a voice so profound and pure.

What to share about Donovan
man there's so much more
I'm almost lost for lyrical line
so I'll just sing 'Mellow Yellow'.
