Dont Dance Along (Age 17) Poem by Jessica C. Galvan

Dont Dance Along (Age 17)

'She has fallen
he tries to pick her back up
she doesn’t want to dance
he takes her body
and makes her move around
we are all watching
they dance together under the stars
as she stares blankly into his eyes
now the kids are dancing
and she knows that it’s all lies
she’s hypnotized
so are the children
the world is spinning deviously
more are dancing under this curse
not knowing what is wrong
I hear a voice in my heart
she is trapped under a spell
not wanting to dance along
the clock is ticking
our lives will be over before to long
he keeps her moving
for if she stops
he will fail and the curse will break
he whispers lies inside her ear
and we can all hear
I start to dance to the song! '
