Double Stantards. Poem by Abdul Wahab Sharief

Double Stantards.

She wooed me with her smiles first,
Exciting my senses and increasing my thrist.
Then she would stop me just as i was to taste,
Laying siege to my passion and putting dreams to waste.
Always promising love unseen, unheard,
Twisting my emotions with carefully chosen words.
Lifting my spirits if the the day and chore had them drowned,
Making me feel like a prince newly crowned.
Then when'st we meet at a gathering social,
You dismiss me as if you love me not with free will.
Hurting me morebluntly and willfully,
And yet i accept your evry folly.
Why don't you love me in the open,
Like you love me when alone, these games i have outgrown.
