Downpour Poem by ROLI MISHRA

Downpour

Did the moon shine less,
Or was it the clouds that engulfed the moon?
Or did the shooting stars traversing through the expanse of the wide universe,
Painfully crossed like an arrow through the aching heart.

I feel the loss of night skylight, as the clouds wrap the moon in its arm.
Similar is the loss of light from the enchanted soul- once mine was!
The heavy clouds ready to burst and pour in plenty,
Stayed heavy.
Was it to hide the droplets falling from the watery eyes,
Or did the clouds befriend the tumultuous downpour of the failing heart!
