Drapes Poem by Laureate Ezekiel

Drapes

On the outside...

A closed box
So many scars
A wounded raven
The broken tombstone
A blood-stained tear

But behind the curtain...

A tunnel
Blinding hope
A loved soul
There is an open road
An escape
But I don't have to run...
