Dread Poem by KOMBE SAKWE KOFI

Dread

Rating: 5.0

My mind drunk and corrupted, move by no norms,
My people keep sinking deep down like an anchor,
My people extorted, no sympathy, they write our wrongs,
My people showed love, manipulated by a neighbour.

Unity stands stronger, they came up with division
Corrupted our minds, love turned into hatred
On their mission for conquest, made decisions
Across the Atlantic, for nothing, my brothers were traded.

We under duress from this long union without divorce,
I love and dread them, it's stock to my heart like some glue,
Once they pay I'm happy, ear to ear smile with no remorse,
They malice, they be the devil, I see that, ain't nothing new.

They Call me black, a colour, yeah I'm part of that race,
2eyes, a head and a nose, my blood red, yet I'm human,
I move by my intuition, heart still beating I call it grace,
At the top you know your fate in the food chain, that's man.
